Lithuanian-English Dictionary

The Lithuanian language belongs to the Baltic family of Indo-European languages, with Latvian being the closest in similarity. The language can be a little daunting at first, as there are 2 genders and 6 noun cases - ensuring that each noun changes its ending according to which part of the sentence it occupies. As well, the letter "R" is trilled.

At the request of some LBW regulars, here is a small introductory Lithuanian-English Dictionary - of some of the more common words/phrases which most will run across. The Tourist Information Centres all function in English, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and German (in some areas).
